You see– Clarke, by all means, shouldn’t exist. Everyone in her family, for as far back as they can trace, has been either an Alpha or an Omega. Never has a mere Beta sprouted on their family tree. Her Uncle Russell even insisted on a paternity test when she turned eighteen and still hadn’t presented as either, much to Abby’s unending embarrassment. All of them go on and on about it. How dare she spit on their pedigree like this!
Of course that embarrassment is Clarke's fault, it's her personal defect that keeps her from presenting.

At first, Bellamy doesn't want to aid Octavia's crazy plan to win Homecoming queen. Her lifelong feud with Clarke Griffin is between the two of them, and he refuses to get in the middle of it. But his sister has a way of persuading him to pretend to date Clarke, just until Homecoming, so they can humiliate her and ruin her chances of claiming the crown. His popularity, charm, smarts and overall good looks should make this an easy plan, but Bellamy fears his relationship with Clarke may become a little too real for the both of them.
Or, Bellamy pretends to date Clarke in order to help his sister win Homecoming Queen. Too bad that he actually falls in love with her along the way.

Summary
Clarke feels like she’s in a game of tug of war and she’s the rope. On the one side there is warmth drawing her in and welcoming her home with open arms. The sounds of children laughing, unburdened by the world, flit around. She can hear her dad and Wells and Lexa and Finn and all the others she’s ever loved and lost, it sounds so sweet it’s a wonder why she doesn’t allow herself to be pulled away into it. On the other side it’s a feeling of uncertainty. It’s cold with patches of warmth like swimming through the ocean where the sun has warmed it unevenly. It sounds harsh and uninviting. The monotonous beep of machinery drones on and on endlessly. She isn’t even certain how long she’s been stuck here being pulled a little bit this way one minute then a little bit that way the next but it feels safe not having to make a choice. For once no one is relying on her to make an impossible decision. No one’s life is dependent on her. The weight of the world doesn’t rest on her shoulders. There is no living with the consequences of her actions by staying here. And most importantly, no one is dying. Except maybe her.

The Blake’s are arguably one of the top three largest and most well respected, also feared, families in the country. Two years ago they had attended the funeral of the former head of the family Vincent Blake, the man was old. They had called his son “The Rebel King”, he was known for his particular brutality, cunning, and is supposed to be incredibly tactical. He has no problem going against the norm to get what he wants hence the name. And yet, if it wasn’t for the coldness in his eyes, nothing about his face screams blood thirsty, ego manic.
