Summary
'Wolfwood didn't want Vash to know, because knowing meant vulnerability, it meant sharing more when he was better, it meant having to explain why they'd found each other in the first place. Telling him meant Vash would likely find out about why he'd kept so close to him, what his mission was- Wolfwood couldn't even forgive himself for it, he wasn’t wrapped up in himself enough to ask Vash to.
Yet, when he looked at him and, through unclear vision, noticed the tension in his shoulders, the jaw locked tight, scrunched eyebrows and eyes glossed over with premature grief, Wolfwood decided he'd rather be hated as the man he is than loved as someone he'd never been. '
or
Vash comes the closest he's ever been to losing Wolfwood. Adrenaline and hurt make them unravel things about themselves they never thought possible.

Summary
The song ends. The radio host reads the title of the next one as Wolfwood reaches to pry the bottle away from Vash and take another swig. A piano leads in, the tempo lower and the tone far more sentimental. Wolfwood doesn’t recognize it—but then, he’s never really been one for crooners.
When he slides the bottle back onto the table, he realizes Vash is staring at him blearily, his chin propped up on his knuckles. “What?” he asks, his voice slightly raspy from the liquor. Those blue-green eyes are looking dangerously wistful.
“D’you know, I’ve never danced before.”

Summary
“Aki, are you awake?” Power brings herself closer to him, with both hands moving to his shoulder. Pulling softly, now, as if to turn him towards her.
“...I am now.” He whispers, leaning into her touch and shifting over to her, to face her. “What’s wrong…?” His eyes aren’t quite open, yet, a slight furrow in his brow as he tries to force his own consciousness.
“I had a nightmare,” her voice is breathless when she says this, as if the words themselves threaten to recollect the dream.
“Another one…? His arm reaches around her, to rest his hand on the small of her back, a soft touch, along with a tired sigh.

Caring about someone like this - the hard way, the way that makes you lose sleep and the ability to do so much as take a shit in peace - is new to him, and a complete pain in the ass. But the second the initial shock of Makima's offer to take him on a trip with her wore off, he knew he had to buckle down and say no. He knew he had to stay. And feeling Power shiver against him in the dark, he knows he'd choose this every time. He wouldn't think twice. This is the first time in a long time that he's had people to lose.

Summary
Tommy was handed a small flyer in printed in black and white, with the words “POETRY NIGHT - OPEN MIC” splayed across the front in bubbled font. He fumbled with his binder as he took it, eyes wide as he said, “are you sure? I mean, I love poetry and all, but I don’t think-I’m not sure—what if I can’t write poetry?”
Mr. Sam’s dark eyes softened, and he reached out to place a hand on Tommy’s shoulder, squeezing it gently. “Everyone has to start somewhere; every poet, from me to Rudy Francisco, started off without knowing a clue about what we were doing. Tommy, it’s not about if you can or cannot write poetry, it’s about if you want to.”
