Ilya thrived like a flower in the sun, the gentle affection from everyone feeding him, recharging him, making him feel whole. But Ilya never got that from Shane, the cold exterior of Hollander cutting him like a knife when he dared get too close, the face never breaking in front of him no matter how charming Ilya tried to be. Never faltering, always a picture perfect photo of the enemies they were made out to be.
