Luke grinned and bounced on his heels while Wedge gnawed on the inside of his cheek, tasting copper and bile and thinking of dead friends, of the shudder of the laser cannons impacting his engine — the red warning lights that flashed across his cockpit and the screech of his astromech and Luke demanding he get clear.

Pumpernickel is the author of *Pelargir in the Second Age,* and *The Flowering of Adunie.* He is currently working on a translation of the Numenorean liturgies for the Three Times.
(This is an attempt at an EmperorNorton150-style in-universe historiography of Middle-Earth through the lens of Numenorean History. I had a lot of fun with this, though I was too lazy to bother much with diacritical marks or standard punctuation.)

Some of them she recognized, vaguely, as neighbors and other citizens of Brockton Bay. Others she didn't recognize at all. The idea that Brockton Bay could just be transported to another world, though, was mind-boggling.
