“Is that what you think? That I’ve come to take pleasure in this?”
“Why else if not that?”
Rhaenyra sighed. She looked out the window where the dawn was bleeding color into the sky. “I did not come to witness a spectacle,” she said. “Nor to gloat. Even in your most uncharitable moments, you must know I am not capable of that.”
“Then why?”
Rhaenyra turned back to her. “Is it so impossible that I came to see you?”

It was promising to be a beautiful night as I arrived home. I want to walk beneath it, with you.”
