Summary
Regulus wishes – sometimes, not too often – that he were like Sirius, able to make things up on the spot. Sirius says he has never seen a single bloody thing in his tea leaves, or his cards, or his palms, in the milky depths of a crystal ball or the glistening entrails of a dead pigeon. He just enjoys telling stories.
Regulus sees water.
His tealeaves: Dregs of muddy water. His cards: The Queen of Cups, waiting by the waterfront. His crystal ball: Unmoving, opaque water. His sign: Cancer, one of the Water Trigon. His palms: Somehow, impossibly, water.
So, yes. He really did deserve that P in Divination.
-
Or: Regulus thought he knew all the horrors of Grimmauld Place, but on this stifling hot summer night in 1976, the house seems hell-bent on terrorising him in new and interesting ways. It’s all Sirius’s fault, of course.

Summary
“Oh. I mean.” Denji shrugs. “Gotta make money, ya know,” he pinches his fingers together, giving Aki a sleazy grin. “Like I said. It’s not like I actually did it- I’m not gay, like I said-”
“Denji, that’s not the point. It doesn’t matter that they were dudes, it doesn’t really matter if you’re gay or not, it matters that you were a kid. You still are a kid. And they were adults they should’ve-” What? Protected him? Helped him? Not asked for services?
He could list all those things, and he can already imagine Denji’s indifferent expression, a shrug, or a thumbs-up (that stupid thumbs-up) as he remarks: well, still gotta make money somehow, right?
Denji understands that activities are legal, or illegal.
Aki isn’t entirely sure if Denji realizes there’s a moral scale that differentiates them, as well.
Aki hates learning new things about Denji.
Aki thinks a lot about Denji.
About how Denji is a mistake.
About how thinking too much about Denji is the bigger mistake.
(an entire fic whose dialogue depends on denji, who's unaware he's trauma dumping, and aki, who never asked)Bookmarked by make_me_sad

i looove all the similes/metaphors. and the dramatic irony! good stuff. this fic really does have such a strong sense of style (and comedy). content-wise, canon-compliant (or canon-adjacent, we'll see where this goes) character studies do have my whole heart, especially for something like csm. the execution here is probably the best i've ever seen. and the aki pov? sooo good. i get to worm inside his little topknot head and pick apart all his thought processes, which is fun because they're usually so obviously wrong or so obviously right. even more fun with how his relationships (i.e. in Hayakawa Aki's Found Family) develop and how we see him actually get fond of these losers. it's good! good job!!

Summary
“polyphagia” (ˌpɒlɪˈfeɪdʒə)
- an abnormal desire to consume excessive amounts of food; often the result of an underlying condition
- an insatiable appetite
This is how it goes: Denji loves too passionately. Yoshida loves too quietly. Denji is never full. Yoshida is never hungry. These truths do not come into question—not for people who've sold them their whole lives.
Until Yoshida takes on his newest job, that is.
