Summary
The door opens, a gust of cold air blowing in and lifting the skirt around Yosano’s calf muscles, gooseflesh erupting on her shins. She turns to look at the door, meaning it to be nothing more than a passing glance, but she feels her jaw drop and she gapes for a moment at the cafe’s new arrival.
Ozaki Kouyou meets eyes with her. Her face stays flat, eyes hardly widening, but Yosano notes how her fingers tighten around the door handle as Ozaki pushes it closed behind her. The barista places Yosano’s coffee at her side. Yosano peels her gaze away to nod at them in thanks, and covers her face with her hair.

“So sensitive.” Dazai murmurs, which Chuuya chooses to ignore. “Will you please just behave? Hold your palm out for me.”
Chuuya decides sometimes it’s better just to relent to Dazai in order to avoid a headache later on.

But his self-destructive bender gets interrupted by Charlie Blackwood, showing up to invite him to participate in a brand-new weapons development program, codename Top Gun: the first two-pilot jaegers to ever be deployed in the fight to defend humanity. That means Maverick's going to have to get back in a piloting rig again—and he's going to have to do it while drifting with another pilot. Drift compatibility means getting each other, understanding each other, on a level nobody else can beat; so whoever his partner is, at least he's not going to get stuck with the Iceman, who pretty much hates him.
