Summary
Four months after the War ended, Sonic finds himself waking up in Tails' bed without much memory of the prior night. He discovers that, thanks to Rouge, he and Shadow finally spent a night together, after circling one another for years. The pair can finally be honest with themselves and each other, admitting and commiting to the feelings they've harbored for so long. Just as soon as Sonic admits to Shadow that he remembers nothing of their first night together, that is.
Meanwhile, the Doctor is digging up ancient evils again. The team understands the stakes too late and Sonic is once again separated from them. Shadow and team must recover him once again while dealing with a menagerie of threats, chief of whom seems not to be ancient, but very much modern.
