“His eyes might as well be on his forehead.” Holly muttered.
“Hm?” Will stifled a laugh.
“He’s an id- I mean, Mike's not very good at, um, seeing obvious stuff, Will,” Holly whispered loudly, clearly censoring herself for Will’s sake. “Don’t tell me you’ve never noticed.”
Will very much had. “Don’t tell him this, but you’re absolutely right.” Will admitted, matching her whisper.
Holly looked gleeful. “I won’t say a thing. Promise.”
“Good. You'd better not. He’d probably kick me out or something,” Will added dramatically.
“I wouldn’t let him,” Holly said. “Having you here is like having a second brother! It’s cool.”
Will’s heart actually melted a little. “Thanks, Holly.”
“And you actually like the stuff I like.”
“Mike likes art too!” Will tried.
Holly rolled her eyes again. “No. Mike likes YOUR art.”

Summary
Feeling flooded back into his body. His head throbbed mercilessly, skull heavy and aching. The light overhead scorched his eyes, forcing them to squint against the brightness. It didn't help that the world tilted again, spinning just as it had earlier that day, colors bleeding into one another as shapes warped and bent unnaturally.
His tongue felt thick. Uncooperative. His lips numb and sluggish. Blurred shapes crowded into his periphery. Darkness pressed in at the edges of his vision.
And then there was nothing.
OR; Will gets a concussion after hitting his head during The Crawl and Mike looks after him.

He couldn’t accept that he’d be taking in the way Will’s beautiful eyes looked at him as if he was the only thing in the world, or feeling the love only Will could make him feel, or being reminded of all their memories together for the final time.
And because maybe, Will would’ve been able to talk him out of it.
So he walked away from the door. And now here he is.
Mike kills himself because he believes everyones lives will be better without him (they weren't).

The wanting. The terrible, stupid belief that some things could be mutual without being spoken. That you could be seen without asking for it. That someone could know you and still stay. Understanding.
Maybe if he killed this one, the rest would finally starve.

When Will needs to get his thoughts out of his head, he writes a letter he never intends to send. He addresses it to Mike, and tells him everything.
Feeling lighter than he has in weeks and buoyed by the adrenaline of writing it all out, Will acts on an impulse and ends the letter with, "If you’d be willing to give me a chance, I’d be really happy to date you. If you’re open to trying it, please meet me in Castle Byers this Saturday at 2:00pm. I’m not asking for any promises, I’m not asking for forever or anything like that; all I’m asking is that you give me a chance. Come if you want; if not, I completely understand, no hard feelings, and I’ll never, ever mention this again."
He forgets all about the letter, and the distinctive red envelope he stowed it in, until he turns around to find it missing. Now, Will has to think of some way to stop Mike from reading that letter - or should he wait at Castle Byers on Saturday at 2:00pm and pray for a miracle?
