“I know,” she said curtly, putting the bowl callously to the side. “I’ll control it.”
Rost frowned. “That is not what I meant.”
“Then what is it?” Her voice wavered and for the first time in a long while, Rost could see the child underneath. Aloy acted mature for her age, but she was still only just fourteen. A tired, sad, lonely fourteen year old. “Just say what you mean.”
“The pace you’ve set yourself will only run yourself into the ground, given time,” Rost said carefully. “We still have a few years ahead of us, there is no rush.”
