Summary
When Bucky fell from that train, when he slipped through Steve’s fingers, it had felt like the end of the world, a cataclysm whose blast radius was limited to one Steven Grant Rogers. Everyone else, he’d thought, could survive it, even if it hurt them. Steve could not. Steve had not, even if that had proven to be a temporary state of affairs.
Now, Steve’s world doesn’t feel like it’s ending. It feels like it’s beginning again: a violent transformation, a terrible rebirth. It roars through him, hope and horror in equal measure, drowning everything else out.
After the Avengers find a frozen Bucky in an abandoned HYDRA base in Siberia, Steve thinks that everything will be okay now that he has Bucky back, now that he's safe and alive and healing, now that they're together again. But Bucky's road to recovery is long, and Steve and Bucky have fundamentally different ideas on what it means to come home from the war seventy years later than they'd expected to. Those different ideas might even be irreconcilable. Even if Steve has found Bucky, he's going to have to reckon with the ways he's lost himself along the way, or risk losing Bucky forever.

Summary
A time before war. A time for healing. A time for finding yourself.SERIES SYNOPSIS
One hundred years ago, two young men from Brooklyn, New York, left home for war. And war, they found. Remnants of a war their parents had not finished. A war they would not finish. Lost, traumatized, suffering discords of the mind no human should know, their astonishing survival, transformations, and return to the world, changes human history.
Battling death, monsters, and evil men, callous governments and secret organizations—things they had imagined alive only in the pages of the comic books they read as children—the two friends fight their way home. Back to each other.
From childhood in the streets of pre-war Brooklyn, through the Second World War in Europe, through incredible separation and reunification, toward a coming darkness that promises a permanent ending to all things, these friends prove true bonds to be unbreakable.
This is the story of how Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes, presumed KIA, defeat death to find life, and each other, in a new century.
And along the way, to be become legends.

"Thinking of you keeps me steady. Some things stick in my head, even when I don’t mean for them to. But I’d rather say the rest when there aren’t as many oceans between us, and no men peeking over my shoulder, counting my words. You know how it is.
You’re the one that knows me most. You know what I’d say.
All yours, till the end of the line,
Jerk
P.S: Send another sketch—I’ll see it when we fall back."
