“Well,” Mr. Hollander said. “‘Lovers’ is usually used for, hm, a mistress or an affair. Something kind of sordid. Though--you would say Romeo and Juliet is a play about two lovers,” he said. He paused his knife on the chopping board. “Somehow that’s right and using it for real people isn’t right. English is a damn funny language, Ilya."
“Yes,” Ilya said from the bottom of his heart.

Summary
After ignoring his phone in favor of getting split in two by his situationship, Shane is stranded in Boston at the start of the zombie apocalypse.
Ilya is left with nowhere to go, and Shane refuses to leave him behind. In order to survive, they have to cross the Canadian border and get to the cottage, together.
But getting to Canada is far easier said than done. When Ilya is badly injured, their road-trip becomes a race against the dead—and the infection spreading through Ilya’s leg.

Shane smiled against the warm skin of Ilya’s thigh, his hands stroking his hips to calm him.
“Easy,” his voice came out low and thick with arousal. “The night is long, Rozanov… and I want to enjoy my boyfriend inside me to the fullest.”
He placed one last light kiss along the still-pulsing shaft—a gesture of ownership and promise—before climbing up Ilya’s body, kissing every inch of skin along the way: the defined abdomen, chest, throat, until he found his lips again in a deep kiss where Ilya could taste, with brutal intensity, his own desire on Shane’s tongue.
“Who are you?” Ilya asked between hungry, rough kisses. “And what did you do with my sweet, shy Shane?”
