    Summary

Recurring dreams about an otherworldly man have Cloud questioning what's real and what isn't.
The dreams themselves are heavenly, and Cloud is shown pleasure unlike anything he's experienced before. But waking up in the aftermath grows increasingly concerning when all he can think about is glowing green eyes.

When Cloud encounters the man in the waking world, he's forced to admit that his dreams weren't as unreal as he'd believed.
And after agreeing to let the man have him, he learns that his dreams could never compare to the real thing.

Cloud has no other choice but to start a peculiar friendship with General. However, it seems that he might be teaching General a bit more that he originally intended. Or maybe there's more to General that Cloud even dared to imagine.

    Summary

The most important detail of the story is this: there are two gods.

There were many more than that, once. At the outset, as flora and fauna became sisters, as earth and air breathed each other’s bodies, as the sea became so vast she split herself into many so as to not collapse from her own weight, there were many gods. That is no longer the case. They, in their own, slumbering ways, are gone. Now there are two.

There is a god who kills. There is a god who dies.

    ---
Cloud is the god who dies. Sephiroth is the god who kills. One day, they'll become the gods of other things. It's a long road until then.

    30 Days of Alternate Universes
    Most recent chapter: Reincarnation

But that first naptime, as he drifted off, something stirred inside him that left his dreams uneasy.

Cloud unfolded from within the child, like a flower blossoming. He was not real. He was the boy. He was himself. He was angry.

He looked down at the silver-haired child before him. Looked down at him as he crouched behind his own reincarnation.

“Why,” He asked the sleeping child, looking so innocent, so soft, so small. “Won’t you just stay dead?”

“I could ask you the same.” Said a voice that did not come from the child’s mouth. Cloud watched Sephiroth fade into being. Spectral and dangerous and inhuman as ever. Not sweet, or innocent, or small in the slightest.

He loomed behind his reincarnation. A doom over the child. A curse. His wing arching over his back marked him as inhuman. Cloud lay a hand over his reincarnation’s head, as if he could guard him.

    Summary

After a scuffle with another mer, Cloud is left injured and on the brink of starvation.

In a rather fortunate turn of events, he comes across a fisherman. Though he doesn't like eating humans, he can't turn down an opportunity like this. Cloud hadn't expected his meal to fight back, however, and he certainly hadn't expected the fisherman to be the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.

He soon realizes that in failing to eat Sephiroth, he's gained so much more than a meal.
