“I’m sorry about earlier,” Jisung says quietly, pulling the blanket tight around himself, “I didn’t mean to freak out like that.”
“Do you want to talk about it?” Minho asks gently.
Jisung looks at him warily, then drops his eyes to the floor wordlessly. He frowns, like he’s thinking about saying something, so Minho waits. After a few moments, Jisung glances back at Minho, and then his whole face crumples, tears falling freely again like they'd never stopped. Jisung shrinks into himself, making him look even smaller, shaky breaths wracking through him.
Minho shuffles closer and puts a hand on his back, and Jisung lets him this time, “I’m sorry, it’s okay, you don’t have to-"
“I- I think I’m pregnant.”

“I Googled it,” Minho tells him. “When we were looking for attorneys. I just wanted to see if there were things out there that we hadn’t thought about, or—”
“Minho, we can’t get married,” Jisung says. “It’s not an option.”
Minho flinches, like Jisung struck him rather than freed him from the burden of legally tying their lives together and filing expensive and fraudulent paperwork with a government agency. “Why not?”
It was one thing to have to explain it to Changbin, but Jisung doesn’t even know how to begin to have this conversation with Minho. “What do you mean ‘why not’?” he says instead. “We can’t get married so I can stay here! It’s fraud!”
Minho shushes him. “If we’re going to do this, you need to not go around yelling ‘fraud.’”
(Jisung’s student visa is about to expire, requiring creative solutions. Marrying his best friend he’s down bad for might not be the best idea for more than one reason.)

Summary
I love you, Minho mouthed the confession to the picture of Chan, spilling the words he knew he would never have the confidence to say. He was ashamed of himself for feeling that way towards Chan, who had been nothing but friendly with him the entire time they had lived together.
Chan didn’t like him like that, and soon Chan would find someone else because he was too perfect not to be loved, and then Minho could perhaps finally heal, and get his straying heart to understand that it was hopeless.
