Summary
“English is… is not first language,” the woman said quietly. Her accent was thick, and unmistakably Russian.
“Oh, sorry! I’m speaking too fast, aren’t I? Sorry,” she took a breath, and held out her hand. “I’m Yuna,” she repeated. The woman took her hand quickly, her hands bony and delicate.
“Irina,” she replied, before gesturing for Yuna to sit with her. Quickly, Yuna did. “Sorry, I have not been in Canada long.”
“No problem at all; welcome to Canada! Is that your boy?” Yuna asked, gesturing over to the child that had similar hair to Irina, which was poking out from under his helmet. He was taller than Shane, though his little hockey outfit still seemed to still dwarf him. He had a serious look on his face, but his eyes were light as he watched the other boys play. He was tapping his stick on the ice, clearly itching to get into the game.
“Ah, yes,” Irina nodded, taking a few seconds to translate the question, “Ilyusha.” Irina looked over at her son, a small smile on her face. “Is my Ilya.”
Or: Ilya and Irina move to Canada for a fresh start when he is six years old. He meets Shane Hollander at ice hockey practice, and they grow up together (and of course, fall in love).

Summary
Shane is the fearless leader of the Voyageurs tribe, looked up to and depended on by many people. A string of failed hunts and the risk of starvation for his tribe forces Shane to cross the river and encroach upon the feared territory of the Bears - a tribe notorious for their ruthless defence against intruders. However, he is confident in his speed and stealth, sure he can enter the territory unnoticed. His plan unravels when Ilya, the fierce leader of the Bears, catches him on his land.

Summary
He was just away to raise his head from under the covers to tell Shane that he wasn’t moving rooms and would have to deal with them sharing, when a heavy weight settled over his body, keeping him trapped under the covers. Hayden blinked, and tried to shift - either Shane was just being silly, or he was actually drunk for once, which was unheard of. Before he could ask, a chuckle had him freezing.
“Don’t tell me you’ve already fallen asleep, Hollander,” the voice teased, deep and very obviously Russian. The weight on him rolled, and Hayden was pretty sure that it had been the other person’s hips. “I did not drive all the way here just for a nap.”
Before he could even process what the fuck was happening, the covers were pulled off of him… and he met the hungry eyes of Ilya fucking Rozanov. Rozanov cursed in Russian and flew back off of him, his eyes wide and his breathing sharp. Hayden quickly sat up, nearly banging his head on the bed frame as he did so.
“What the fuck?” he heard himself ask, his voice all high pitched. “What the fuck?”
