Summary
When a mission against a digital villain traps Izuku and Katsuki inside a looping game world without their memories, every reset blurs the line between code, and memory. They fight, fall for, and find each other again and again, until the only way out is to choose how to live, not just how to win. Each reboot of the game world introduces a new style of video game, and Izuku and Katsuki must adapt to every scenario, while they decide whether they trust each other.
Code Drift is a character study and a visual journey through love and loss.
The back wall of the room lit up with projections of Katsuki fighting off intruders, Katsuki in his furs cutting off the rope bridge from the shrine to the cliff, Katsuki with goggles on his head and a long black coat taking a wrench to hissing steam pipes.
“He cut the rope, huh?” Izuku says, in a clipped voice. As if. As if he would take the coward’s route. If there was ever a bridge, Katsuki Bakugou would be standing dead-center, sword slung over his shoulder, yelling that you’re late and to hurry the fuck up already the moment Izuku appeared on the horizon.

Summary
This is a canon-compliant expansion of the ending of MHA - specifically chapter 430, to show how Izuku is settling in as a teacher, how he feels about it and losing OFA, how he processed what happened with Tenko back when he was still in school, and how Katsuki felt about all of this. It's meant to use Chapter 429/430 as a framework and fill in the blanks, adding in introspection, as well as multiple conversations between Izuku and Katsuki. It's at its heart a character study of Izuku, and to a smaller extent Katsuki and how HE now views Izuku. It's also my offering on how I think the suit was funded and created by Katsuki, and how he would have been at the heart of it.
Here is the first couple lines from the fic, I hope you enjoy it :
"Katsuki is still in rehab after graduation watching Izuku go be a hero, frantically trying to catch up, Izuku frantically watching.
Izuku and his embers fading 2-3 years later, relying on support items and strength, doing more desk and rescue, watching as Katsuki gets stronger and stronger, leaving him behind once again, and Izuku knows that he can’t catch up anymore. He can’t keep up on team missions, he analyzes behind the scenes more often than not."

Summary
“Izuku, open up” Katsuki’s voice snaps Izuku out of his reverie. 3 more knocks. He goes to open the door, letter in hand, book open on his bed, and gives him a look of such intense scrutiny that makes Katsuki want to look away. Instead, he eloquently says “what”.
“Did you actually tell your mom to give me that book as a gift?”
“Is that so hard to believe?”
Izuku crosses his arms as Katsuki plops himself on his desk chair.
“Okay, well not in so many words, no.” Katsuki reaches out for the guide, only to find Izuku body blocking him.
“Izuku what the hell, let me see my book!”
“There, that! What do you mean “your” book? You wanted nothing to do with me back then in middle school!”

"Fucking finally!" Katsuki throws his hands up as Izuku crawls out of the dark hole that is the narrow corridor on the left. "And where the hell were you? I got here fifteen minutes ago!"
"I was in the washroom?" Izuku puts his hands on his hips, and Katsuki's blood pressure skyrockets. Not because of what Izuku just said, no, but because of what Izuku is fucking wearing.
"I can't believe this." Katsuki pinches the bridge of his nose. "How is my costume the problem?"

After seven years of overworking himself to revive Izuku’s dream, Katsuki is exhausted. To make some extra money without having to kill himself for it, Denki recommends starting a podcast with Izuku.
It’s a stupid idea. It probably won’t even get approved by his PR agent. It runs the risk of Izuku discovering everything.
But if it works? Maybe he’ll be able to afford a steak in a few weeks.
