Jake nodded, reaching for Jongseong, who was already tugging on the bottom of his shirt. Heeseung intercepted him halfway, picking up the fox hybrid himself.
“Go rest. I’ll take him with me.”
“I don’t think so.” Jake managed to laugh once. “He’ll scream the whole way.”
“He can manage for one day.” Heeseung replied optimistically, even as Jongseong threw his body to the side, his fingers reaching for Jake.
“He really can’t.” Jake replied honestly. “It’s really not a bad one. He can rest with me.”
Heeseung finally relented and let Jongseong cling to Jake. He was so attached it was crazy. Jake knew he would grow out of it one day. He was still young. Even as a human child, he would act younger as his animal side developed.Jake and Heeseung, and Yeonjun and Soobin, navigate a new world with little ones as a new threat encroaches on their freedom.
