“Everything alright over there?” Shoot asked, smirk clear in his voice.
“Yeah, it’s just,” Knuckle looked over and was met with Shoot’s back turned, shoulders flexing together as he pulled his own shirt off by the collar.
His mouth started to feel unusually dry. Thankfully Shoot wasn’t facing him, because for some reason, Knuckle found it difficult to tear his eyes away. He watched as Shoot pulled the hair tie from his ponytail, back and arm muscles tightening, accentuated from the workout. Long hair spilled down his back as he shook it loose by the roots.
“Uh,” Knuckle shook his head, not sure why his face was starting to feel hot, still looking at his gym bag. “I forgot a clean shirt.”

“Okay, do you have everything?” Shoot asked, for about the sixth time since they left their shared apartment. Knuckle didn’t mind, really, it was all a part of Shoot’s process. He had a need to double, triple, quadruple check every detail before a mission - which was good, Knuckle had a tendency to miss those things. “The cage? The blanket? The antivenom?”
“Yes, yes, and yes, and the treats, and the gloves, I have everything,” Knuckle said, shoving the last of his supplies in a duffle. When he zipped it shut and looked up, Shoot could have been 90 years old from the creases on his forehead. Knuckle softened and stretched an arm around the back of the driver’s headrest. “Sorry. I’m just excited! I’ve never seen an albino ponytail cat in person, let alone kittens!”

“So, Sokka,” Aang turned to him, flushed from the warmth of the building and hot food. “My buddy, my pal, my lifelong friend!”
Sokka raised an eyebrow at him and took a good-sized drink from his cup. “What do you want?”
“How do you know I want anything?” Aang’s voice creeped higher along with his shoulders. He could barely keep it together before caving and letting out a sigh. “Fine, you’re right. The actual reason for my trip is to see you.”
(Sokka and Aang take a trip to the Spirit World. It doesn't go as planned.)

He’d thought it had been too quiet for him to hear, but maybe he was wrong and Sokka had heard and now knew, and was confused because he was trying to figure out how to let him down gently, and Zuko had just ruined everything-
“I have absolutely no clue what you just said,” Sokka announced after a moment, dropping his sword to his side. “I couldn’t hear you over all the wheezing.”

“Of course not,” he says soothingly. “He can bunk in with me, it’s not like we haven’t done it before. It's a twin room, anyway, there's already a spare bed.”
Sam guesses a bigger house is out of the question. Whatever; the three of them have spent eight hours crammed in a Mini, it can’t be that bad.
