Summary
Rumi looks down. “Your soul,” she whispers mournfully, enraptured by the blue light trickling out of his chest. “It’s beautiful.”
Jinu smiles.
Gently, he presses his forehead against hers. Rumi jolts, eyes widening, but to his relief, she doesn’t pull away.
“My soul,” he echoes softly. “It’s yours, now.”
Rumi opens her mouth, but no words escape her as she gapes at him. A tear cascades down her cheek.
“It’s mine to give, and yours to take, if you’ll have me.” His vision is blurring, and so he lets his eyes fall shut, allowing the darkness to encompass him. He forces himself to believe that the lull of sleep is accepted of his own volition.
His cheeks tingle. Rumi is holding onto his face. “No, no, no—” she grits out. Her voice is growing distant. “Stop. You can’t do this to me.” The words rush out of her in a frenzy, full of haste and distress. “Jinu.”
“Rumi,” he responds in a broken murmur. “Thank you.”
She was right. Gwi-Ma could be defeated.
He should have listened to her.
(Or: A fix-it/time-travel au where Jinu goes back to the very beginning of the story and sets things right.)

Summary
“Hand over the sapphires.” With his free hand, Jinu points a finger at Abby’s fist withholding the stolen goods.
“Who the fuck do you think you are?” Abby sends Jinu a mean glare. “I stole them fair and square.”
Jinu’s brows furrow. If anything, he seems more confused than angry.
“I’m not giving them to you.” Abby scoffs. “You’ll have better luck trying to pry them out of my cold, dead hands, prick.”
In Abby’s peripheral vision, he sees Romance wince.
Meanwhile, Jinu only stares. “Are you new here?” he asks. There’s no malice or condescension in his tone—only mild inquisitiveness.
Abby laughs. It comes out awkward and forceful. “No.”
How the hell did this guy know?
(Or: A glimpse into Abby's time in the Underworld and his relationship with Jinu as they slowly get used to each other's company.)

Summary
In the past four months, androids were being pulled off the streets, disappearing off the face of the planet and never to be seen again.
There’s been no trail to follow. They’re not even certain if all these missing cases are related, but the amount of androids disappearing as of recent times is most certainly increasing at an exponential rate.
If these cases really are all related, the perpetrator has yet to slip up. The lack of any leads was frustrating, to say the least.
But then Connor had received a tip.
—
“Now, RK800. We’ve heard quite a lot about you.”
“...Is that so?” Connor stares at the probes hidden within the opening hole of the taser unflinchingly, trying to shake away the phantom burning sensation that threatens to sweep him over his feet. He needs to find a way to get a hold of that taser.
“Yes. It’s been brought to my attention that you have a very unique skill set that could be of use to us.” The taser is unwavering in the man's grip, and he almost appears bored. “Why don’t you enter stasis mode? I see you’re losing thirium. We can help you replenish if you come with us quietly.”
(Or: Connor's stuck in an underground fighting ring. Updates every Friday!)

Summary
“Why do you still come to see me?”
Connor stops in his tracks. The calm blue of his LED switches to a pensive yellow. “What?”
“I’m not in prison anymore. You don’t have to come and check up on me.” Nines’ stare is piercing. “You shouldn’t waste your time. I’m not some charity case.”
Connor feels another exhausted sigh start to surface as he leaves the boxes forgotten on the floor. They’ve been over this a million times— at this rate, this constant back-and-forth disagreement between the two of them that’s initiated every time Connor steps foot in Nines’ apartment will never be settled.
“You’re right. You’re not just some charity case,” he relents, sliding next to Nines, who’s currently burrito-ed in the cat blanket Connor had gotten him a week ago. “You’re my brother. I can’t just forsake you—”
“We’re not brothers,” Nines shoots back immediately, tugging the blanket over his head more securely. “Don’t waste your time deluding yourself.”
(Or: Nines is outta jail, but the path to healing is harder than Connor had expected.
Takes place a few years after the revolution.)

Summary
“Nines,” the voice is borderline pleading, now. “Please, just look at me. You can’t isolate yourself forever.”
If Nines wasn’t so busy giving Connor the silent treatment, he would’ve scoffed. He keeps his gaze stubbornly fixed on the far end of his cell, paying no heed to his unprecedented visitor and sparing them both the pleasantries of a confrontation neither of them ever wanted.
“Visiting hours are almost over.” Connor’s irritatingly sincere tone filters through his auditory units, like water on rock. “Come on, Nines, please talk to me. I’m worried—”
“Don’t lie to me.” The words are curt, cutting through the palpable tension in the air with the sharpness of a knife. In his peripheral vision, he sees Connor startle at the interruption, clearly not expecting to actually receive a response. “If you were so concerned for my well-being, you would have visited sooner.”
(Or: Nines is incarcerated for the crimes he'd committed prior to deviating. He's lonely, and it definitely shows. Connor feels remorseful, and so he visits his successor. It's awkward, but they somehow manage.
Takes place a few years after the revolution.)
