You were very much out of your comfort zone. Impulsively reserving a spot for a month-long backpacking trek was not something that fit into the normalcy of your typical 9-5 workaholic lifestyle, but why did it feel so right? Nothing else seemed to scream, "quarter life crisis" quite like this. Excited was an understatement, you would never have been able to anticipate the friendships you were about to be thrown into. Neither could your trip guide. Neither of you knew what was coming but it sure was about to knock you both out of the sense of normalcy you were both so accustomed to.

He flicked the lighter again, cupping his palm tight around the wisping flame. Dust bit at his knuckles, stinging like a reprimand. Somewhere above them, the sky had taken on that specific sickly yellow-brown hue that meant the storm was coming in faster than forecasted.
A few feet away, Rudo watched Enjin struggle with the lighter for another moment before finally speaking.
“So,” Rudo squinted across the street, “if she works for the Cleaners… why’s the shop on the other end of town?”
Enjin finally got the cigarette lit and took a drag. The smoke barely made it past his lips before the wind stole it away.
“She doesn’t work for us,” he said, tone easy, almost lazy, even as his eyes never quite left the door.(Anyone else thinking about the baddie Enjin fumbled? Anyone? Hello? Anybody wanna see what I did after over-analysing Enjin's pov panels from the manga and every part of his character background I could find?)
