The first official action Dorian takes as Archon, after weeks of careful planning and the quiet removal of as many Venatori-aligned Magisters as the Shadow Dragons were able to blackmail or corner alone in a dark alley, is to declare slavery illegal in the Tevinter Empire.
The second action he takes, before the yelling has even died down and while his bodyguards are still pinning the latest noble scion to try and kill him to the marble floor, is to legalize marriages between partners of the same gender.
