Niko grins, a flash of bright warmth, real warmth, that contrasts with the laptop’s harsh electronic glare. ‘Tell me which part of that is inaccurate, and I won’t.’
‘Are you sure you’re sensitive?’
‘I think that’s the thing you hate most about me.’ Adept as always, Niko sidesteps the stalemate trap. When Fabi shifts uncomfortably, Niko cocks his head, a small, mischievous smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. ‘And no objections to my good looks, I see.’
