Summary
Planets are dumb and dangerous, but at this point I'd argued— okay, more like complained— complargued so many times that nobody except ART was still willing to argufy back.
(That stands for argue-pacify, in case it isn't obvious. I think it's not obvious. And no, I hadn't forgiven ART yet for saying I needed pacifying.)
Anyway, I was currently complarguing from my seat in the back of the snow-capable bot-driven transport heading out to the middle of nowhere, so I had the sneaking suspicion I'd lost the fight.
Murderbot accompanies its humans on a winter vacation. Then the storm hits.

I thought the survey had been going pretty well, with a total lack of hostile fauna, flora, corporates, or alien remnants, until the morning everybody woke up to find an unidentified silicone-polymer object sitting on the table in the middle of the habitat lounge. Now my humans were all standing around it, trying to decide whose sex object this was.
Sometimes I hate myself for starting to get optimistic.

"I am curious to know if you smell good," Three had said, interrupting Perihelion's much snottier explanation of the same thing. "Or. If the way you smell is good to me."
"Okay," he'd said, nonplussed, and handed over his sweaty shirt, only to belatedly ask, "Is this a sex thing?"
Three and ART have a strange request, for experimental reasons. Tarik thinks why not, it can't get much weirder than that.
Then it gets a lot weirder. Tarik has about fifteen reactions to that, several of them horny.

It was like Amena was there and it was happening again. Then she was back in the bunkroom and blinking hard, her heart hammering. She gasped in one big breath and then held it, knowing that if she didn't then the next one and the next one would both be noisy and out of control. But she held it and kept a grip on herself until she could release the air, slowly, and inhale normally.
Mostly normally.
As everybody prepares to go home from the Worst Survey Ever, Amena struggles to feel normal again. As long as she focuses on making sure Three is okay, though, she can manage. Sort of.

SecUnits 1 and 2 survive. With all three of them together— and ungoverned— 3 discovers that there are things it wasn't aware 1 and 2 wanted to do to it.

It is dusk, during the mild early nights of the fallow season, and we— 1.0 and I— are playing Keep Away with the Mensah children when 1.0 abruptly utters, "This unit's critical components have reached their designated life expectancy," and drops like a stone.
Then it says, "WHAT THE FUCK."
Three has to hit the reset switch on a forced-obsolescence process. The switch is in an extremely inconvenient place inside Murderbot. Like, wrist-deep.
Three is feeling so normal about this. It is. It is.

The SecUnit waited, completely unmoving, as Izak subvocalized for the office door to lock and set his feed status to Do Not Disturb (another new perk of the promotion). Of course the Unit stood there, it had to. Still, he felt judged. He wiped a sweating palm on his uniform.
Shift Supervisor Doren celebrates his recent promotion by taking advantage of his new ability to order the SecUnits around.

Summary
SecUnit 3 experiences its first 100 hours without a governor module.
The first 10 hours were spent recovering 1.0 from alien hostiles. Those turn out to have been the easy hours. At least Three had protocol to cover some of that situation. Now SecUnits 1 and 2 are inoperative, 1.0 has blocked it, Perihelion terrifies it, and Three is alone.
