For most people the night is calming. The tiredness from an eventful day finally hits you, the sleepiness from it gives you a sort of peace of mind. All thoughts, good or bad suddenly vanish from thought. Your mind becomes voided. The only thing your body longs for is the release of sleep .
This applies to almost everyone except Dazai Osamu.
The night is anything but good for him. At night there’s nothing to distract him from his thoughts.(he often finds himself reliving the feeling of Odasaku body losing its heat) To him the night is an abyss of darkness that he despises with his whole being.
