“Maybe it's just Grace,” Marks suggests, “She's always misplacing her keys.” He chuckles.
But when he opens the door Mark is met with Detective Shapiro flanked by Officer Bailey. “Are Mark and Karen Chasity?”
“Yes, that's us,” Mark answers. Karen appears at his side and holds onto her arm, her brow furrowed with confusion and a hint of concern. “What seems to be the problem?”
Shapiro and Bailey share a look, “We need you to come down to the Old Waylon Place. There's been an accident.”
“Well I hope it's not termites,” Mark chuckles in an attempt to lighten the mood. The officers aren't amused. His smile fades and Karen’s hold on his arm tightens “We'll tail you I guess?”

It's Pete.
He's humming a tune as he stalks around the room looking for them. “I know you're here Stephie,” his voice is all wrong and drone-like. He knocks over a box to the girls’ right, “Just come on out!”
The girls don't move but cling to each other's hands like their lives depend on it. Steph thinks about giving herself up, Pete wants her after all, Grace might have a chance at escaping if he's distracted. But it's like Grace senses her train of thought and tugs on her hand and shakes her head. Steph can't say no.
Pete continues humming and soon starts full blown singing, “I know I stand in line until you think you have the time to spend an evening with me.”

“I am, I am,” Glinda protested weakly, taking another bite. She looked up at Elphaba with those big brown doe eyes, fluttering her eyelashes just so. “See? Obedient.”
Elphaba’s neck flushed briefly. She would not let her concern be brushed off by dirty tactics, much less in front of the Palace's staff.
“Highly debatable,” Elphaba said dryly.
The guard, to his credit, became extremely interested in a perfectly ordinary patch of wall just over the secure door’s frame. Sound travelled more than you’d think in this part of the Palace, and thus he had long ago perfected the art of hearing everything and reacting to nothing. Ever. At all.

“All our problems would be solved. Because I mean, alone- let's face it.”
“We totally suck.” Steve says.
‘Totally and utterly.” Robin agrees.
It’s supposed to be a silly pipe dream. Key word being supposed.
