Summary
“I’ve been thinking about Seb a lot lately,” Aaron said gently. “Every time you talk about the farm, about legacy… it makes me think about him. About how he should be part of that. How he already is, even if he doesn’t know it yet.”
Robert swallowed hard. When he finally spoke, his voice was rough around the edges.
“I want him to be. God, Aaron, I want that more than anything. But what if…” He stopped, jaw working. “What if I’m not good for him? What if too much time’s passed and he’s happier without me? What if he looks at me and sees a coward who abandoned him? ”

Summary
After prison, Robert thinks he's being subtle about how much he needs to touch Aaron now—small, careful touches he believes no one sees. But Aaron feels them all the way down to his marrow. Aaron feels the love for Robert carving itself into his veins, his ribs, his very soul, until loving this man is no longer something he carries. It is part of who he is.

Summary
Aaron works as a barista at Brew & Bite, a cosy, slightly scruffy coffee shop in the next town over from Emmerdale.
Robert moved away as a teenager, made a life elsewhere, and returned in his late twenties. Now he’s 40, sharply dressed, confident, a bit posh (or at least acting like it), and definitely hiding the fact he’s bisexual.
None of this stops him from immediately developing a crush on the grumpy barista who annoys him, challenges him, and calls him out on his stupid coffee orders.
And definitely none of it stops him from flirting.
Aaron pretends to hate it.
He does not hate it.

Summary
The first time Robert kissed him, it set something alight in Aaron. It was cheesy, and he’d never admit it to anyone else – not even Robert, because as much as he’d get it, it would just inflate Robert’s head beyond belief – but that first kiss sparked a want in Aaron that had never lessened, not even after a decade.
or - a coda to todays episode, where Aaron has a lot of feelings about Robert's fleece.

Summary
“I have this – fantasy, I guess,” Aaron began, choosing his words carefully. “Of you – giving up control to me.”
Robert’s heart shuddered to an almighty stop in his chest. Aaron was hardly a passive character, in bed, but he tended to be happy to let Robert take the lead, never pushing too far. Robert wasn’t sure if that was because of the lingering ghost of their affair – or if it was because Aaron was just horrendously perceptive, and had realised that Robert wasn’t entirely comfortable with being out of control. Maybe it was all of the above.

Summary
Robert's body had changed, in the years he'd been in prison. Aaron loved every change in Robert’s body - the way his shoulders seemed broader, now, strong enough to carry bales of hay, and Aaron himself, on one particularly memorable occasion; the soft curve of his belly he’d never lost, the way it flexed and tensed underneath Aaron’s determined touch.
Most of all, Aaron loved Robert's thighs.

Summary
Three weeks ago—in the middle of the night, after a harrowing ordeal—Aaron had helped shuffle an injured Robert out of the car, and they'd both looked up at the Mill with something akin to trepidation.
The building had been cast in the eerie beam from the streetlights across the road, too far away to really do them any good; and so very different from the home that once welcomed them in from a hard day's work so many years ago.
But now, today, after their time away from the village, having grown ever closer, and even with the dreary weather around them spitting rain, they could both feel it—the gentle tug of a fresh start. A new beginning.
And so, barely an hour after arriving back home, and having only just bumped into Victoria to share the news of Robert moving in, they were both on the road again in search of a Christmas tree.
.
In which Robert and Aaron get back from their holiday, decorate for Christmas, drink some of Ruby's wine, and declare their undying love for each other in all sorts of different ways.
