    Summary

It’s hard to stay cynical in the face of Clark Kent and his relentless optimism. Looking at him there, still in his button up shirt from his business trip, sleeves rolled up, still focused even though it’s pushing midnight, she feels a warm, steady wave of fondness in her chest.

She wishes they could do this every night. Not the pulling a furious all-nighter right after someone tried to murder her – that part she could take or leave. But it would be nice to spend every evening with Clark. She’d always told herself she liked her space, but being with Clark was like having space and having company rolled into one.

Her highly caffeinated, sleep-deprived brain catches up with the implications of that thought process, and she thinks, shit.

After years of pining after an alien demi-god who is, much as she hates to admit it, miles out of her league, Lois realises she's caught feelings for her co-worker. Unsure whether or not to tell him, she seeks advice from the most sensitive guy she knows - Superman. Things don't go as she expected...

    Summary

Clark Kent is the clumsiest man Lois has ever met. If Clark can hold it, he can drop it.

Or so she thinks, until she watches him rush into the bullpen, wade through an elementary school class on a field trip, dodge Jimmy busily swiping right on his phone, and duck Steve Lombard’s airborne football to deposit a cup of coffee on her desk.

She would write it off as a case of extreme, uncharacteristic luck, but then it keeps happening, again and again. How the hell does Clark do it? He drops everything but her coffee? How does that make any sense at all?

    Summary

When she first met him, she’d assumed Clark Kent–solid, Midwestern, unassuming, non-demanding–would favor a beer and maybe a shot on the side if everyone else was partaking. She could peg him as maybe having a craft beer if he was feeling adventurous or a whiskey sour if he was really feeling like something on ice or just wanted to seem interesting in a group setting, but she hadn’t expected anything out of the norm.

The first time they’re at a bar for an unofficial team happy hour on a Friday night and he orders an honest-to-God Shirley Temple, then, she’s thrown.

“No one drove here,” she offers. “You don’t have to DD.”

Clark shrugs, looking mildly bashful the way he usually does when anyone’s attention is focused solely on him when he wasn’t expecting it.

“I’m not really a drinker,” he says, almost apologetically, even as he accepts his drink from the bartender, the glass looking almost comically dainty in his hands, which just adds to the comedy.

Lois, though, just shrugs. Everyone needs a quirk, after all, and there are worse ones to have than not drinking.

(clark kent doesn't drink) (lois uses this to her own benefit)
