“What are you talking about? I completely trounced you in that bet. You really thought you could beat me. You should’ve. I had only just started swordfighting.”
It is only so strange because Henry jumps to defend Hans at seemingly any other opportunity. But whenever a woman so much as looks in his direction, he must bring up Hans’s terrible stench after a hunting trip, or how they sometimes sleep in the same bed in the winter and Hans snores terribly, or how Hans once fell into a puddle of mud and had to walk back to Pirkstein with it smeared all over his backside.
It really is peculiar.In which Henry is the worst wingman and Hans is oblivious as hell.
OR, All the women Henry prevented Hans from seducing, and the one time his seduction actually worked. -

Alex rolls his eyes, mirthful, and presses the entire right side of his body against Henry, sending fire licking up his spine. “Let’s call it a tie, then. We’re the saddest teenagers in London tonight. We should be proud.” He raises the whiskey bottle in celebration. Henry is almost scared to ask how he procured it.
Alex seems dangerous in a lot of ways, but especially in his fire, the searing heat Henry feels at the points their bodies touch. Alex’s flame burns bright; too bright for Henry, who has already resigned himself to a life in the shadows.OR, on Christmas eve, a boy already mourning his hospitalised father meets a boy trying to avoid his broken home. They make the most of it.

Alex confesses his love to Henry on a Tuesday.
“If you die, I don’t think I’m ever going to recover.”
“I’m sorry you feel that way.”
Alex’s jaw visibly clenches, and he thrusts the mug back into Henry’s chest. When he tilts his head up, Henry is shocked to see that his eyes are wet. “Henry, please. I won’t be able to live with myself.”
Henry places the mug down onto the counter and cautiously brings a hand up to Alex’s shoulder. He tries to ignore the way Alex shivers, or the way his eyes flutter shut for a moment.
“Alright, alright. I understand. However,” he squeezes his hand, “I’m not sure I have it in me to stop loving him.”
Alex nods, quiet, then brings a hand – slowly, so slowly – up to cup Henry’s jaw. “Same.” He searches Henry’s eyes. After a moment, Henry tips his head in a nod. He closes his eyes. He feels Alex’s hot breath against his lips. “Who?”
“Sebastian,” Henry whispers.OR, Henry is in love with someone, and it’s killing him. Alex is in love with Henry, and just wants to save him.
Some people fall in love in a day, and some take a little longer.

Henry raises an eyebrow. “Pardon?”
Alex rolls his eyes. “The catch. You know, I’ll grant you three wishes but you’ll die in three years, I’ll sleep with you but I’ll steal 100 bucks from you,” he narrows his eyes, “I’ll let you have my apartment, but…”
He gestures for Henry to continue. Henry sighs exasperatedly.
“No catch. You know the terms.” His eyes are a clear, steady blue. Alex grits his teeth.
“Yeah. Fuck that. Where are you going to sleep if you give me your apartment?”
“I’m sure something can be arranged.”
Alex scoffs. “Right. Who are you gonna live with? Your boyfriend ?”
Henry just hums, eyes focused on something in the distance, like he’s bored or something, even though he came to Alex in the first place.
Asshole .OR, Henry needs a fake-date, and Alex needs somewhere to live. Alex thinks the deal is too good to be true.
Maybe it is.
