Summary
Izuku's hazy, thoughts wandering as he skillfully tapes and gauzes himself back together. It wasn't always this bad - a cat scratch here and there, blades barely sharp enough to break the tender skin of his forearm, barely-there cuts that scabbed over and disappeared.
An analogy scratches at his thoughts. A frog will jump out of boiling water if it's thrown in immediately; but heated slowly enough, it won't notice until it's too late.
Filthy iron fingers expertly place butterfly bandages. Izuku gets it now.

"Oi. Quit thinking so loud, Shitty Hair, I can hear it over the damn song. What's got your titties in a topknot?" Katsuki grunts, which is Baku-speak for you're my friend and I care about you, so talk to me about how you're feeling, though the blonde would never admit it.
"Nothin', man! I'm all good!" Eijirou smiles sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. His companion rolls his eyes so hard that the red head is mildly worried that they may roll completely backwards, which is objectively not good for driving.
"Bullshit. Lemme guess, you're still pining after that half and half bastard?"
Eijirou feels his face heat up against his will. "I have no idea what you're talking about, man. Shouto is just a bro! I got over that years ago."
The red head avoids Katsuki's pointed glances, keeping his eyes glued to the passenger side window. Denial is a river in Egypt, he supposes.

"Don't scare him, Bakugou!"
At that, he growled and examined the child version of Izuku in his arms. "You scared of me?" he asked. It was a possibility. His hero costume had been made to look intimidating. Sometimes kids cried—the younger ones, who were startled by explosions and shouting. Not much he could do about the former, but the latter he was working on.
This Izuku seemed to be about—probably five or so. And when he tried to remember Izuku at five years old he mainly recalled shoving him into the dirt and telling him to piss off while Izuku—Deku, then—cried, tears streaming down his face, and asked him to wait up, to let him join their games, to stop being mean.
He swallowed. Yeah, it was a possibility.
But Izuku vigorously shook his head. "Nuh-uh! Kacchan's amazing!" He had not stopped smiling since he'd laid eyes on Katsuki.
Well, that answered that question. "Suck on that shit," he drawled at his classmates.

A quirk accident turns Izuku into a five year old for the day. Katsuki is determined to make it the best day ever.

Izuku tucks his legs in, making himself as small as possible to fit in the cradle of Kacchan’s chest. It isn’t very easy, since Izuku’s built up so much muscle mass, but Kacchan’s broad. He makes it work.
“Kacchan’s warm,” Izuku responds, finally settling down with a sigh.
“I’m killing you when this shit wears off,” Kacchan promises.
Izuku is hit with a villain’s quirk that forces him and Katsuki to be in close-quarters at all times.
(It goes a lot better than you’d expect.)
