Mel doesn’t raise her eyes from the cardboard container in her hands as she nods, twirling some noodles around with her chopsticks.
“And if I understand correctly,” Samira pauses, like she’s building the anticipation of her statement, “it was absolutely fucking terrible.”
“Samira!” Mel says, her head snapping up so fast she’s worried for a second the movement gave her torticollis.
Samira shakes her head and points her index fingers at Mel.

Feelings were messy, unpredictable things. She’d managed keeping them to herself this long, she could keep a handle on it with a one time perfunctory favor sex involved. She simply had to logic her way through it. Frank was her person. He would help her out because he was a good friend. The sex would be carefully carried out and rote. There would be no additional emotional attachment. Everything between them would go back to the way it always was and Mel could move on.

Bucky’s 90% sure Grant Adams is a fake name anyway, and he knows that people aren’t certain he’s been de-programmed. God forbid the infamous assassin finds out where his shrink lives.
“We have monthly game nights,” the doc says. “Get together, get some drinks and snacks, maybe order pizza.”
“Games?” Bucky repeats blankly. “Like what, Monopoly?” That’s a game that isn’t going to make him any friends. Doc Adams looks a little embarrassed. “What?”
“Well, mostly… Tabletop gaming. Dungeons and dragons, that sort of thing.”
“Dungeons and what?” Bucky stares at him. Is his therapist into kinky, BDSM sex shit with his friends? If he is, Bucky’s first instinct is to think the future is way more open-minded than he realised, and his second instinct is to move his therapist further up in his estimation.
