Summary
Modern police AU.
Linebeck is a detective with the Mercay Island Police Department, a mostly easy job for a half-drunk guy creeping close to forty. When the usually quiet, sleepy island bears witness to a heinous crime, he must work with all the resources at his disposal - and then some - to solve a crime that seems to face obstacles at every turn.
Meanwhile, workaholic reporter Ciela Keen is determined to prove her worth as WMCY's youngest crime reporter, even if it puts her in harm's way more often than not, and some people preferred she weren't poking her nose where it didn't belong.
