“Dave?” Hal says.
Snake pauses. “Yeah.”
Before proposing the idea, Hal leans forward and puts his hands on Snake’s knees, staring up at him.
“I was kind of thinking we could switch positions tonight,” Hal admits. “Could we also try that one thing?”As thanks, Hal decides he wants to switch roles this Valentine’s season, and Snake obliges.

“You’re not still holding that against me, are you?”
“Don’t mean to,” he says. “Just reckoned you still owed me after that mess.”
“Well, alright.” Hal huffs. “What’s your price?”
With a smirk, Snake reaches up and takes off his hat, setting it on Hal’s head; Hal’s eyes go wide, and he freezes, stiff as a board. Snake doesn’t doubt that Hal knows what this means.
“This time, the bounty’s on you.”After short-lived conflict, Hal gives in and pays off a debt that his favorite cowboy put him up to.

“Do you like it? I don’t think you really like sweet—”
“I like you.” He coughs right after.
Almost, Hal blushes, but that wet cough of Snake’s doesn’t do him much justice. His brows knit together, and he starts to wonder whether Snake is slowly losing his mind.
“Snake? Are you delirious?”For nearly a week, Hal nurses a sick and stubborn Snake.
