“I’m not shared,” Shane said softly. “You’re my boyfriend, he is my bestfriend.”
Ilya turned back, eyes still stormy. “I see the way he looks at you. Because he looks at you the same way I look at you.”
Shane’s mouth fell open, half grinning with amusement. Did Ilya really think Hayden was in love with him?
“Ilya, Hayden has a wife and four kids, what are you talking abo-”
“How could he not?!” Ilya cut him off. “You are perfect. Perfect son, perfect hockey player, perfect boyfriend, perfect friend!” He spits out, using air quotations to exaggerate the friend part.

OR: Ilya Rozanov is extremely jealous of Hayden Pike. Shane ends up in a situation needing help, and both Hayden and Ilya show up at the same time... chaos ensues as Hayden connects the dots.

Hayden’s stomach dropped when he saw Jackie nod, “Same. Unfortunately.”
“It just makes sense—and god, I don’t want it to, but it does. Ever since they got back together, Shane’s been coming to practice with so many bruises, and these are very much not the hockey kind. They’re everywhere even though he thinks I don’t see. Some of them are even in the shape of handprints.”
