Kirishima woke to a high-pitched, drawn-out beep. He grimaced and sat up, ignoring the odd weight on his back in favor of glancing around for the source of the noise. His gaze landed on Bakugou, who was staring in Kirishima’s direction, his eyes glassy with unshed tears as his shoulders began to shake. Kirishima’s parents stood just behind Bakugou, holding each other, each with a hand on one of Bakugou’s shoulders, offering comfort and understanding. Kirishima felt his lips curving upward at that. Bakugou was obviously upset, but he wasn’t pulling away from Kirishima’s parents, which meant that whatever was wrong, Bakugou wasn’t shutting down. He was letting people comfort him. That was good.
Kirishima wanted to join in.
He wanted to hold Bakugou, ask what was wrong. He wanted to hug his parents, too. It felt like forever since he’d gotten to hug them.
Kirishima slid off the side of the bed he’d been laying on, threw his arms around Bakugou...and his hands passed right through him. Kirishima stumbled and fell forward, passing right through Bakugou and his parents.Series
