A normal, human life.

At some point, he realized he needed to get rid of almost everything he owned, from before. Anything that reminded him too much of Hawks, and the life he once lived.
His one concession: he kept the coffee maker.
Dabi always liked that one.
In the aftermath of the war, Hawks tries to learn to live with all his losses. One day, he meets someone new.

Summary
“No, actually,” he says, voice carefully casual. He takes a step forward, putting distance between him and Dabi before he turns around. When he has a better view, he says, “I have a proposition for you, Dabi.”
Dabi melts into the shadows—the rough purple-black scars on his face, his dark clothing, his lank hair. The only parts of him that holds any light are his eyes, which are a startling shade of light blue. Something about those eyes is familiar, but Hawks can’t put his finger on what.
“A proposition?” Dabi says. “Is this some kind of fetish, a hero/villain thing? What would the press say?”
Hawks couldn’t give less of a damn what the press says about anything. Chances are, when this is all over, his reputation is going to be sullied by far worse than a sex scandal. That knowledge makes it easy to smile, to laugh, at how ridiculous Dabi is.
“Maybe later,” Hawks says, waving an idle hand. “The proposition I’m talking about is a bit more serious. One your boss is gonna want to hear, I bet.”
Five times Hawks let Dabi get too close, and one time he got too close, himself.

His hand hovers over the holographic profiles circling around the console when his fingers touch down on a boy with wild lavender hair, determination lingering in the young man’s equally vibrant purple eyes, and Aizawa is filled with doubt about all their futures. Someone is going to have to lead them through this, and unfortunately that falls upon him as the Starforge Program’s sole trainer.
By now, the group of young recruits will be boarding the ship. They’ll be paired off and shown to their small rooms and the Arcadian UA will leave Earth for an undetermined amount of time. They’ll be full of excitement, at least at first, but Aizawa will watch the excitement drain from their faces as reality sets in.
He’s seen it dozens of times, and space is a cold and hollow husk of a coffin for those who aren’t cut out for the work.

It’s so quiet in the room, no students to fill the silence, no voices carrying on down the hallway since it has long since been abandoned. Just the quiet hum of fluorescent lights and the sound of shared breath.
Shinsou’s hand is on Aizawa’s chest. He feels the heart beneath his palm. And maybe it’s a mistake. Maybe it’s too soon. Maybe he’s reading everything wrong.
But he leans in anyway.
Shinsou kisses Aizawa. Not rough or hesitant in the slightest. The kiss is brief, but it lands in the center of Shinsou’s chest and blooms there. He breathes the feeling in and Aizawa’s grip tightens for a moment, not to push him away, but to hold. To anchor himself. The world tilts sideways, then Aizawa’s mouth opens to him, slow and stunned. The kiss deepens, just for a heartbeat, but in that heartbeat, something breaks free.
