This is a fucking terrible idea, I thought, and because ART knows me way better than I like to admit, it replied to that (thoroughly unspoken) thought:
Many studies have indicated that exposure to equine species has a markedly positive effect on human health and wellness.
Didn’t ask was my snippy retort, and I added, They didn’t consider construct health and wellness in those reports.
The human part of you remains human no matter how much you disregard it, ART pointed out, and wow. Okay. Uncalled for.

Summary
Perfect beings had no gender. They were God’s image, the embodiment of the Truth. This was a belief of the alchemists and, therefore, a belief of the people of Xerxes. The desert society was built on the values of alchemy, and their most central value was that of equivalent exchange.
This is what Ling was taught in his culture lessons. Well, “taught” is a loose word— more like he learned it by reading the encyclopedia volumes that Fu gruffly tossed his way every day. As a prince of Xing, he had to know as much as he possibly could about the countries that he would be dealing with when he became emperor- presuming, of course, that the twelfth in line for the throne would (could) ever secure it.
Ling could. He had a plan.
Xerxes had alchemy. Alchemy had— according to those books- Philosopher’s Stones. Philosopher’s Stones gave eternal life. Ling’s ailing father, the emperor of Xing, wanted life, more desperately than anything. And Ling? He wanted the throne.
Ling needed a Philosopher’s Stone. So, Ling needed Xerxes.
Simple.
Of course, nothing ever turns out quite so simply, does it?

“Noo-o shit,” Gideon drawled, forcing her face back into an amicable expression. She reached up and knocked her sunglasses back down from atop her hair to settle on the bridge of her nose.
“Long time no see, Nonagesimus.”
"Why are you wearing sunglasses indoors?" Harrow bit out.
-
Gideon Nav and Harrowhark Nonagesimus were bitter childhood rivals. They were separated young, and no tears were shed by either. They moved on with their lives, but could not look back on their early years without painful memories haunting them. They remained figments of one another's past- that is, until they meet again as randomly assigned roommates.

“Camilla,” he breathed, and she knew it was serious.
“What was that, dear?” Juno Zeta’s voice wobbled through the phone’s speaker, tinny, and Palamedes’ eyes glinted.
She shrugged. He squinted. She nodded.
“I’m dating Cam,” he said, “and I’ll bring her home for Christmas.”
There was an air of resolute finality to it, a commitment to the bit that she could only dream of delivering so masterfully.
Vaguely, she regretted her lifetime penchant to agree with nearly everything that Palamedes Sextus proposed— (no) (phrasing)— came up with— typically without question nor second thought.

“Todoroki-kun, I’ve known Kacchan my whole life. He’s amazing, and he knows it. I’m sure he would do a great job at pissing off your dad. But I know that he’d definitely piss you off too.”
“Don’t care. I’ll deal.” Shouto said, clipped.
He forced his laptop open. Izuku’s scarred fingers slid off the surface.
Izuku pouted.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” he whined.
“Yeah, yeah,” replied Shouto.
He started typing.

Summary
“Do you know,” Otabek breathed, accented, against Yuri’s collarbone as he splayed his fingers across the small of his back and pressing their chests together, “how long that I have loved you, Yuri?”
The blonde let out a heady sigh and tilted his head, allowing Otabek more access. He gently ran his knuckles through Yuri’s silky hair, pushing it behind his shoulder and tracing his lips along the sharp line of his collar. He brought a hand to the back of Otabek’s head, lightly scratching his fingers against the brunette’s scalp.
“I think,” Yuri replied breathlessly, “but you should tell me anyway.”
Otakbek smiled against his skin.

“You okay, ‘Zuku?” he asked, low, “You’ve been acting weird all night.”
Izuku frantically waved his hands around in dismissal.
“Fine! Fine. I’m totally fine,” he stammered. He glanced over to the Christmas tree and the gifts underneath it, his gaze locking onto one especially large box tucked back in the corner against the wall.

Summary
Momo wondered if Kyouka had suddenly developed laser vision that day while she was at work, or maybe when she had parked at the mall, power-walked through the corridors lined with stores, past Santa’s Workshop packed with miserable employees and screaming children, heels clicking against the floor. Or maybe even when she sheepishly slunk through the Victoria’s Secret entrance to pick up her prepackaged, prepaid-before-she-could-chicken-out online order. Momo was absolutely sure that when she got inside, the bag dangling off her arm, Kyouka would be able to see straight through both her and the package, would narrow her eyes when she saw the scrap of lace nestled in the tissue paper, would be offended at her girlfriend’s assumptions, would insist that she take it back to the store immediately.

“Fancy meeting you here, Dr. Aizawa,” a voice said, low and flirtatious.
Shouta jumped, whipped his head to the side. His braid flew around his neck and hit him square in the nose.
Hizashi was there. Next to him. Wearing a thousand-watt smile and his work uniform. His hair was piled into a bun on the top of his head, his glasses dangling off his nose, scrunched up with delight. He held two paper cups of coffee in his hands and waved one at Shouta.

Hitoshi didn’t do crushes. He didn’t have time for wooing and relationshipping- he would honestly rather hang out with his dads or his cat than spend money on overpriced food and time on inane conversations.
At least, that’s what he told himself every time he found his eyes scanning the Auntie Ann’s storefront, not-so-subtly looking for a puff of green hair and a bright smile.

In Bakugou Katsuki’s humble fucking opinion, parade blocks were one of the most effective forms of torture. Telling someone to walk straight forward, eyes ahead, shoulders square, rolling their feet, playing the exact same damn cadences over and over and over again was already bad enough. But then, toss in a string of other people to keep in line, bad marchers and freshmen, to make matters even worse.

Summary
Their relationship thus far in life had been very all-or-nothing, Katsuki mused. All-in rivals who knew barely anything about one another other than that they had to be the best. They could read one another like a book, analyze every breath and predict every movement, but couldn’t even name the other’s favorite color. They couldn’t talk with their mouths- and so they resorted to fists.
All-in partners, both aiming for the top, each seeing the other as just a stepping stone on their individual path to greatness. They turned their fists away from one another and out towards the world, crushing the competition. They developed their own language, all hand signals and code, but still couldn’t say a damn word.

“You know,” Mina whispered breathily, “we didn’t get dessert.”

“Would you fuck Deku? For Christmas?” Bakugou asked him.
He looked at him expectantly, as if he hadn’t just asked Kirishima one of the most ridiculous things that he had ever heard.
The redhead gaped at him like he’d suddenly grown a second head.
“Wait,” Eijirou said slowly, “You want me to do what?”

Summary
On December 25th, Inasa woke especially early, snuck off the ship, and stole over to the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
“Severo! Severo!” Inasa hissed, haphazardly slashing his wand at the top branches of a tree, eyes locked on the bushy parasites tangled within them, trying to be as quiet as possible.
He winced when a branch as long as he was tall came crashing down out of the tree.
But there we three bunches of what he needed, more than enough.
He supposed beggars couldn’t be choosers as he gathered up his prize.

“Mmh gon’ fail,” Kaminari grunted into his pillow.
“You’re not gonna fail, man, you’re fine,” Sero replied, pushing himself up on his bed.
He hopped off his bed, bare feet slapping against the cool tile on the floor of their dorm.
“Wanna toke up?” He asked, already rummaging in his cabinet.
