Matt stopped dead in his tracks, effectively cutting off Foggy mid-sentence. “Matt? What’s wrong?”
Something (a noise? a smell?) had sent such an intense feeling of wrongness throughout Matt’s whole body that he’d nearly stumbled. His fight-or-flight reflexes were screaming at him to act, but there was no threat that he could register. “I… I don’t-”
There it was again. Matt jerked his head in what he thought must’ve been the direction of the noise-feeling.
“Matt?”
“Foggy, I… I think- I think someone just died.”
