He wants to get to know them more.

Throughout his life, Echo had prided himself on being a steady, professional, level headed headmaster. Hell, even if he wanted to forget that, there's a newspaper article on the wall to confirm how professional and respected he was, even after the car accident that took his arm and left him with more scars than just the visible ones.
And there they are, Omega's guardians - tattooed, crass, gruff, wearing more leather than the inside of a luxury car and with a lingering scent of cigarettes. Their relationship should be nothing more than the occasional parent-teacher meetings to iron out a few hiccups. Absolutely nothing more.
And yet Echo can't stop himself from thinking about them.

Echo sucks in a breath slowly. Nailed it. “I see,” he says, cool and unaffected. By some miracle, he doesn’t scream.

As the head of the local high school, Echo takes his job very seriously. When one of the students is suspended for starting the fourth food fight in the cafeteria that year, Echo decides to talk to Omega’s guardians: Hunter and Crosshair. It is a meeting that Echo is not prepared for in the least.

It went along the lines of “So, about Echo, should we …” “Yeah.” “Yes.” “Obviously.”, and it was settled. Easy.
They thought it was easy, but it was not, how was it not? They did everything right!
