Four years since she’d gotten a phone call that had turned her whole world upside down. A call that had simultaneously sent her phone and her heart plummeting, leaving them both shattered on the floor. It was filled with long drawn out words but there were only three that really stuck. “Ah,” Draco said dryly. “The Ministry sent sarcasm in a ponytail. Excellent. Tell me—do you practice that look of disdain in the mirror, or is it natural talent?”Ginny tossed her head coquettishly as though complimented. “All natural, thank you.”
The manor, sensing something new, creaked approvingly.
“So,” she said finally, looking around the entrance hall, “where do you keep the cursed family heirlooms these days? Or are they just part of the furniture?”
He gestured lazily. “Most of them are in the west wing. We kept a few in the dining room for ambience.”
“Of course. Nothing says ‘bon appétit’ like a grandfather clock that whispers death threats.”
