Jason stared, just as the name clicked in his head.
…This guy was Ulysses?
After sacrificing himself to save Apollo, Meg, and Piper from Caligula, Jason is transported to Ancient Greece, in an alternate universe where demigods are extremely rare due to the sheer difficulty of a successful demigod pregnancy.
The exact location and time period he's been transported to? Smack in the middle of The Odyssey on Odysseus' ship, right before the crew lands on Helios' island. And when Zeus arrives to cast judgement, he comes face-to-face with a demigod, young and mortal and inexplicably, undeniably his.
Jason thinks that Zeus couldn't care less about him.
Unfortunately for him, he's about to be proven very, very wrong.

“Despite how unappealing it seemed to be, Percy gulped and squared his shoulders as he knelt down by the girl’s side. He tried to make himself as comfortable as possible before he hesitantly put his hands up until they made contact with the cold sky. And then he put some effort behind it and suddenly he felt like something was trying to squash him into a two-dimensional character.
“What…?” The girl’s eyes opened a little and she turned her head just enough to look at Percy.
His vision was a little blurry from the exertion but he could tell she was baffled by his presence there. “You needed help,” was all he managed to say before he groaned in pain and closed his eyes tightly.”

Percy has no idea why Kronos and Luke do the things that they do, but he has no other options left, really. So he does as he's told (most of the time) and kind of just thinks there's nobody else he can turn to for answers.
Until he meets Annabeth and crouches down to help her carry the sky. Then things start to steer in the right direction, at long last.

Percy and Annabeth finally go see a movie together like they'd planned to do last summer before their plans got cancelled.
Then it turns into a pretty heavy first date when they decide they have to talk about everything that's been going on between the two of them.

“Percy?” the centaur asked slowly, uncertainly.
Percy’s eyes stung a little. He finally found someone who seemed to know him!
“No way that’s Prissy!” the girl who’s thrown the spear at him objected loudly. “Come on, he’s taller. And definitely a little older.”
“How old are you, child?” the centaur asked.
Percy raised an eyebrow at him. “Uh, I’m not entirely sure when my birthday is exactly, but… sixteen, I think. Why?”
“Because I believe you really are who you claim to be. But our Percy Jackson has not yet turned fifteen and he is currently, well, lost.”

An amnesiac Percy finds himself in the past, blinking at a bunch of kids with similar orange shirts to his own after being snatched from his confrontation with the gorgons. Suffice to say, he's not really sure what's going on, or how to take in the fact that apparently in this time period he's presumed dead after blowing up a volcano.
Oh, well, at least the one face he recognizes is actually there.
(Or, Percy from the beginning of Son of Neptune goes back in time to Battle of the Labyrinth and kind of rolls with everything that's happening around him)
