Summary
Amelia had been a court sorceress, and friend, of Uther Pendragon before the Purge. He'd laughed, when she claimed to be from the future, but after Ygraine's death, and her disappearance, he stopped giving it much thought, as he gave himself over to his grief.
Twenty two years later, Uther finds himself shocked when the pieces begin to fall together - Merlin, his son's insolent manservant is a woman - how on earth had he missed that? - and Arthur intends to keep the baby and marry the peasant. Uther finds himself full of righteous fury, until he meets the infant. With Arthur's blonde hair, and Merlin's unmistakable blue eyes, there's only one conclusion, Amelia'd been telling the truth - although not all of it - when she'd claimed to be from his future. His granddaughter.
Uther turns everything on its head for her - to keep a promise he'd once made to her. But that's only the beginning.

Mel blinks. He certainly doesn’t look like he’s having a stroke.
“Frank, why would we move in together?”
“I thought it might be nice,” he shrugs here, acting nonchalant even though Mel can see the tension in his jaw. “To take that next step in our relationship.”
“Frank, what are you talking about? We’re not in a relationship?”
At this, Frank’s frown deepens before widening into a frustrated half smile. “Uh, yes we are? We’ve been dating for nine months?”

Summary
This was not the face of a bad morning.
Something, or someone, had completely smothered Mel's spark.
All of Frank’s priorities reshuffled in an instant. Everyone in this hospital was an idiot if they didn't realize how great of a doctor she was, and how vital it was to keep her from burning out.
Frank attempted a smile. He waved, bracelet rustling on his wrist, feet glued to his spot across the room.
Mel removed a hand from her pocket to wave back at him, cocking her head to the side and squinting, as if he was a mirage in the desert.
No broad smile, and certainly not an ecstatic “You're here!” like last time, something he'd secretly craved. But it was something. Acknowledgement that she didn't hate him, at least.
