Summary
One day in the summer, due to an errant, accidental wish made six months earlier, the world vomits up two teenagers out-of-time.
Present-day Yoshiki and 'Hikaru' are confronted with the past: two alive boys, untouched by the supernatural, dragged forward into a future they don't understand. Yoshiki, in particular, is confronted with his past—the long domino chain of choices he made that has led him to the present: to his soulbruised arm, and to 'Hikaru.'

Two fusions walk into a barn.
They talk: about what it's like to be a person that will exist forever, and what it's like to be a person who will soon cease to be. Or rather, they walk around the topic.

Summary
Something the Gems are struck by, after the rush of delight at fusing with Steven has passed, is that Steven is human. And human bodies are made of flesh. And their fusions with Steven—well. Those are also made of flesh.
For beings who have only ever been made of light? It's really, really weird.

Summary
By now, it’s the last week of September. The leaves are turning. The weather’s changing. In a scant few days, the calendar will tick over into October, and the polite veil, waiting for its cue, will stretch sheer. The Realms will press its so-many faces to the divide. And death will seep through, as before.
“Are you scared?”
“Yes. No. Both, I—I made the decision already, you know? Fear doesn’t even factor into it now.”
“Couldn’t you—” Sam starts, but catches herself.
Couldn’t you change your mind? No. Not really—not without giving something else up. And Danny doesn’t really want to, besides.
There are just a few short days left before the first of October, when the veil runs thin. Danny is taking care to spend quality time with the people he loves. The people he loves are taking care to spend quality time with him. No one is talking about something, and everyone is tripping over it in their attempts to avoid.
There are just a few short days left. There is a choice that has already been made.
Something is about to end.

Summary
In the Realms, three humans take a pit stop on an island haunted by a gnarled mass of plants, so tangled they appear near-indistinguishable. One of those humans carries a burr from it back to Earth.
In the Realms, all dead things that blossom into afterlife are gifted a core, which is a sort of mind. Minds, famously, think. And feel.
Both of these things have consequences.

Summary
Siffrin is your jailor. Your purpose. Your caretaker. Your better self, your now-unreachable future, your child all grown up. You—you are past the point of wanting to take their place. All you want now is a belonging of your own or another cessation, a complete one, because this? This fifth bedroom, this toothbrush, this windowsill overlooking their life? This you cannot take. And as much as every day you miss the people who are right there in front of you, you know they are not yours.
After the journey, in a five-bedroom house, Loop endures the fact that the Universe likes Siffrin more.

Summary
In an alternate act five, Siffrin breaks in a different way than canon.
He and Loop go around and around and around. They both know what wish was made. They both know what traps them here. They both know what the condition is which, upon reaching the Head Housemaiden, so guttingly fails to be fulfilled. But Loop won't say it outright. And Siffrin won't look at it.
Until, eventually, there's nowhere left to look.

Summary
In Bambouche, Siffrin contemplates Bonnie: who they were during the journey, who they are now, and the dastardly, delicious fruit they're cutting up for a snack.
Siffrin thinks a lot about that fruit, actually. How easy it would be to just... eat it.

Summary
In a moment of stress, Danny develops a new power, one far too electrically reminiscent of his death. With it, he can play puppeteer: when he speaks, people will listen, and they'll have thought all along the idea was their own. It's a terrifying power—and when Danny fails to control it, his friendships are left shattered in its wake.
A narrative that explores this new ability, everything else it dredges up, and makes halting steps towards a ghostly coming-of-age.

Summary
Danny Fenton never had the opportunity to really understand his parents, to get to know them like he wanted to. It was always Danny-and-Jazz and Their-Parents-and-the-Lab. But Mom and Dad see him when he’s this electric-bright! They streak after him; they chase! Danny Phantom can know them. They can sink their fleshfingers into his body (approximation-of-being) and get as close as a human can to possession.
A bit of family bonding.

Summary
In town, on a Tuesday, Tucker buys a bag of chips from a corner store and as the cashier checks him out, they ask where he’s headed next. He opens his mouth to speak. Subtly, the music branches before him, and he hears: “Oh, uh—sorry for your loss,” heading left and “Wish that were me” to the right.
Subconsciously, he leans right. “Just home,” he lies.
“Wish that were me.” The cashier shares a commiserating look with Tucker. They hand him his change. “Have a good one.”
“You too,” Tucker says, and walks out, popping the bag open as he goes.
Outside, he turns left toward the cemetery to meet Sam and Danny for a picnic by the tombstone the town had established for Phantom. And he notices nothing out of place.

Summary
“For a long time I waited to see you,” Vlad says. “I was sure you’d visit.” He looks up again. Jack and Maddie both gaze at him openly, rapt. It’s too much to bear, and his eyes skate away.
“But you didn’t come.”
The white of the hospital subsumes him. He is there again—he is limp and weak in his patient’s gown, with a nurse bent over him, her face terrified, and he is lifting his arm to find it glowing.
“And eventually, I realized you never would.” He smiles bitterly to himself. “I tried to leave you both behind, but I kept circling back to you. Over and over again, you two occupied my thoughts. For twenty years you have been the last I think of at night and the first in the morning.”
Twenty years after his half-death at the Fentons' hands, Vlad hosts a college reunion with the vague hope of exorcising all the rage and misery Jack and Maddie left him with. Except, to his surprise, he finds that in their time away from him they have made the same mistake again—they, too, are half-ghosts, and Vlad must reckon with that discovery.

Summary
Sand. Air that tastes like salt. Warm sun on the skin, and then:
“What happened? Are you okay?”
Voice, words, and they aren’t shaped the way you’re used to—except you’re not sure what you’re used to, just that it isn’t this; that when you open your eyes, when you see the pokémon standing beside you, the silhouette is all wrong. And then even that leaves you, and the only rational things are sand, and salt, and sun.
(A musing on memory and the lack thereof.)
