Summary
Phoenix doesn't even know how this thought originated. But there must be some explanation, he guesses.
Maybe it was from a dream he couldn't recall after waking. It could've been influenced by something he saw or heard that led to a passing thought, one that he didn't fully register at the time. Or maybe it was some totally innocuous thing that his husband had done which set it into motion. All he knows for sure is that the scene has clawed its way into his brain: Miles in a state of bliss, both legs tightly wrapped around one of Phoenix's, desperately relieving himself.
And he just can't seem to get it off his mind.

No, it's not that Phoenix is out of breath--he's playing up his nervousness. Miles feels overcome with the urge to slap him for making him feel such a swell of adoration all at once, and a second, more embarrassing emotion. Unrelated, Miles thinks, how do you talk to your therapist about things like this when she knows you've dreamt about killing your father for most of your life? Yes, that was very terrible--anyway, the man who convinced me otherwise makes my chest ache while doing the STUPIDEST things on Earth--
"...What did you have in mind?"
"Well," Phoenix says, suddenly smooth and casual, "There's this drive-in movie place that's showing some old Steel Samurai movies on Saturday night. You interested?"
