Boltheads might say scrap about the fleeting nature of happiness being only more reason to appreciate things you cared about while they were still around, but Dead End had figured out a long time ago that holding onto anything too hard only made it hurt worse when it was eventually gone.
He wasn't saying that he skipped out on the whole universe just to get away from Perceptor. Maybe, if anyone asked, he wouldn’t have been able to deny it without lying—but no one asked.

“Yes,” Soundwave said reluctantly. He remembered the signal, most of all; he remembered untangling it from deep-space communications back when everything was simple, the eerie warble in the background noise singing through his aching processor.

The final mech on the manifest still unaccounted for was easy to find: he had collapsed only a short distance away from the wreckage of the ship. His plating was dented but nothing more. Prowl waited a moment, just in case of a trap, and when the mech didn’t move he got out the stasis cuffs he kept in his subspace at all times.
The Peaceful Resolution was carrying seven neutrals when it attempted to leave Cybertron. Only two of them survived the crash when it was shot down.
(A pre-canon fic about one possible way Prowl and Mesothulas met.)

Technically, the iapetus is correct: the planet is uninhabited. But the silo that rises over the plain, a sterile glint of white metal, suggests this was not always the case. On a planet of one there is no need for names or addresses, but remnants of each remain etched into its walls, and under the rotting floor panels evidence of a legacy can still be found, half buried in the loam.
