Summary
The Red Hood was supposed to be a tool, not a person - and Jason himself had long given up on treating himself as one. In most timelines, it stayed this way, as he went on with his life after death without really living a single day. This isn't one of them. Here, a complete accident leads to Jason finding somebody to share his love of literature with. And then he meets Steph, with whom he eats pizza, and watches famous tv shows and movies he missed out on. And Ridhi, who's trying to set him up with her grandson. And Maurie, whose essays he proofreads. And another person, and another, and another. All of the sudden, he realizes he's not just surviving anymore - he's alive. He's really alive.
Months later, a Batarang still cuts Jason’s throat. Joker still breaths. Bruce makes the same choice he always does. Technically, nothing changes; but Jason didn't expect it to change. He just needed it to mean something - and mean something it did.

Summary
Tim arrived at Bat-burger five minutes early. He stood in front of the door for a moment staring at the glowing bat-shaped sign like it might blink first. It did not. He wondered how he got into this situation, already regretting filling the job application form when it had sounded like a good idea at two am a week ago. He told himself it was temporary anyway. Yesterday, had been annoying. Today would be boring. He could handle boring. Boring didn’t involve blood, capes, or emotional devastation.
He exhaled, squared his shoulders, and stepped inside.

or: Two weeks after quitting Robin, Tim Drake starts a new life as a Bat-burger worker. Superboy Prime, now Superman, is fully dedicated to his new secret identity, including his new job in the famous fast food restaurant.

Summary
"Jeez, you're morbid." When the kid just bared his teeth in what could be generously described as a grin, if one were to squint and generally have the vision quality of a mole, Jason turned back to the rapidly paling Tim. "You want to sweep the place for signs of Nightwing while I wrap things up with junior over here?"
"Junior," the kid scoffed, which was real fucking rich for someone who was an inch or two from being strictly categorized as fun-sized. "Fuck off."
"Hey, watch your mouth. Kids who don't know times tables aren't allowed to swear."
"I can multiply just fine, jackass."
"Hood," Tim cut in, voice squeaky like it'd been squeezed-compressed-squashed ten times over. "I don't need to keep looking for Dick. He's right there."
or, who would've thought that a de-aged Dick would be really angry, really annoying, and really attached to Jason?
(Bruce. Bruce would've thought. This might be his worst nightmare, actually.)
