He’s spent the last few weeks being tormented by a sleepy Roy Mustang greeting him every morning, by hands that settled easily on Jean’s shoulders and arms, by a messy head of soft hair that fell onto his chest during train rides, sometimes even awake and still uncaring about the closeness. Roy Mustang smiles at him and winks at him and throws cheesy lines at him as a jest, like it’s simple. And it should be, it really should.

Summary
The pages are bent and crumpled where he cried over it, scratched words off with too much force and too much ink, roughed it up while writing down. It's a messy bunch of paper that doesn't hold together well and some of the handwriting is almost illegible. Cosette cradles the letters in her arms, tucks them on her apron away from view and holds the bundle like it's something sacred and fragile. She keeps it and keeps it safe, because it's the least she can do.

it was very simple: luffy was lifting his head from his plate and he hadn’t even looked up before sanji knew, out of sheer familiarity, he was gonna ask for more sausages. sanji was already handing luffy the plate when he started to mumble his request, around a mouthful of food. it was nothing out of usual and no one would have even noticed - not even sanji! - but zoro just had to scoff and say you’re so easy on him, love cook.

Luffy takes this moment to wave and bound right up to the nurse with a chirp of, “Hi! I’m Monkey D. Luffy and I’m gonna’ be the Pirate King. Sorry about your roof.”
The nurse stares at Luffy for a solid five seconds, unblinking.
Nami whispers despairingly, “Oh my fucking gods.”
The nurse turns back to Dr. Old Man and asks, “Am I allowed to submit this one for a psych eval?”
