Summary
Everything Kaiser did, voluntary or not, had to be run by Ness. Kaiser tried to hide his obedience to Ness’s whims, but there were only so many times he could turn down photoshoots before explaining to his manager and the team’s marketing head why he hardly ever left his house anymore.
With Ness announcing he’d be out for the following season, it didn’t take long for the rest of the world to connect the dots of what was happening—
Michael Kaiser was whipped for Alexis Ness.

Summary
Both of them have gone the past few weeks telling themselves they didn’t care about their appearances. As long as the baby is happy and healthy, nothing else could possibly matter.
But being faced with a half-dead couple in the mirror did wonders in changing minds.
“We look like shit,” Kaiser speaks the obvious without a hint of emotion in his voice, like that too has been drained from him. With a shrug of his shoulders, Alexis doesn’t bother with justifying their state. “We do.”

“Michael,” Alexis interjected before the fantasy could go too far. “I don’t think that’s for sale. It’s a woodshop, the box is what you’re supposed to buy so you can add your own ring.” It was no surprise that the boy had an eye for jewelry, given the way his mother dressed. The gem was a decent size, no less than a thousand euros' worth of clear, beautiful stone.
Yet to catch on, the old man plucked the box from the display in confusion. “This one? You’re not marrying anyone soon little man, what could you possibly need this for?”
