Lucifer closes his eyes with another sigh. He crosses his arms over his stomach, simulating the hug he so desperately needs.
There’s a lot he can say here.
Like how Alastor makes his hopeless heart flutter with the belief that maybe dreams are still possible; that Alastor makes him feel something, anything, everything all at once, and it is as heavenly as it is torturous.
But all he can manage, in a voice so small he can scarcely believe it’s his own, is, “He makes me laugh.”

It’s—God, everything is so—Dean’s supposed to be this all-knowing guy. This gifted savior come to fix all that got screwed over before. But the longer he’s allowed to make choices and the longer he squeezes himself into this body that doesn’t fit him anymore, the more he feels like he’s just not cut out for it.
He's not smart enough for this. Not creative or artistic enough—if the past were made out of clay, vulnerable to whatever shape Dean’s hands are capable of making, then he thinks the past might take the shape of a gun. He imagines the timeline crumpling in his hands to the metaphorical barrel end of it, a dark tunnel waiting for the inevitable explosion to go off by his calloused fingers.

To cram Dean's 2017 soul back into his 2008 body and give Dean a shot at Apocalypse take two. Catch is, Dean can't tell anyone about this as he meddles with fate and tries to avoid annoying the wrong people...too much. And trying to get through to the douchey love of his life a second time isn't helping matters, especially when he's trying to avoid boning said douchey love of his life.
