Funnily enough, the song playing in Sapnap’s head may be loud, but it occurs to him that all of his other thoughts inhabiting it have finally subsided. He isn’t sure when that happened, but he feels relief. He wonders if Karl had anything to do with that, but quickly flicks that thought away. It was rather stupid, really. He already knew the answer.

Before he boarded the plane to Florida, he knew there was going to be some tension between the two of them. They had a strange type of relationship before meeting up. For years they teetered the line between friends and maybe something more, but hiding his feelings was easy enough to deal with. That was until the FaceTime that ruined George’s life.

Against all odds, the first thing George notices is the air. Thick, humid. Hot. It was raining in London just a second ago. This doesn’t feel like rain air.
“Dream?” he asks in a broken voice—a broken voice he doesn’t recognize as his own. “Dream.”
“George, what—” He’s stunned into silence. George hears the gears turning; the world caving in on itself. “What the—”
“We body-swapped,” George explains, because he seems to be the only one with a grasp on the situation they’re in, however flimsy. “You’re in London.”

Oh. George is in love.
When he does find his best friend and Madeline, they're not kissing, not hugging, not even touching. But George is sitting at a table with her and he's leaning so close to her with a glimmer in his eyes that Dream can't deny.
George, on the rare occasion, had gazed at Dream with a spark that felt like cautious want but the way he looks at her is different. He looks at her the way Dream knows he looks at him. He looks at her with infatuation and intrigue, like he can't get enough of her and wants to know more.
And the worst part of it all? She looks back at him with the same adoration, the same love, returned in full.
Dream found a love that didn't exist through George's eyes and even while he feels the shattering of his heart pour out over the club floor, he can't help but smile through tears.
Because George found love, just not with him.

“Oh? You're a busy man?” Dream wondered. “What you got going on?”
“Wouldn't you like to know.”
Dream did. He was curious what prevented George from talking to him for a little longer. He just couldn't show that. So he put on the thickest sarcastic tone he could muster. “Yeah, I'm so invested in your life, George.”
“Bet you are,” George said blankly. “I'm just eating right now before I go out and meet friends. We're going bowling.”
Against Dream's better judgment there was a tinge of jealousy in his chest. And it made little sense, because George wasn't his friend. But their conversation would be cut short because George had actual friends to meet and most likely, Dream wouldn't get to speak to him another time. He couldn't pick George once more and pretend it wasn't on purpose without every sane person seeing right through the lie.
Gosh, what an idiot he was. He barely even knew the guy, and here he was, bitterly jealous of friends whose names he didn't even know.
OR
Dream hosts a Space and lets a fan speak who turns out to be kind of fun to talk to, and Dream has to fight every instinct in his body so he won't get too attached.
