Summary
Edelgard knew what had to be done, ever since losing all of her siblings to the experiments. The monster inside her called for blood, demanding she spill it from the ones responsible for the crest system the red soaking her feet.
While working towards her goal she meets a mercenary that calms the monster inside her, it wants to get closer to the woman. She knows in the end she has to focus on her ambition but the closer they become the more its wants become a need.

And all of that has helped her to secretly be one of the best assassins Fódlan has ever seen - the Morrigan. But when she helps save a trio of students from bandits, one in particular catches her eye, and ignites her heart like no one else ever has before. With the help of the mysterious, sassy girl only she can see and hear, Byleth attempts learn what her feelings about Edelgard von Hresvelg mean, and how best to act on them, before problems with the mysterious Flame Emperor make time run out.
This is very different to my other work(s), in that I have not finished this one before posting. I don't necessarily expect to get to the end of the game, but I'm hoping to be writing this on and off between chapters of EFFXIV, which means updates will be irregular and unscheduled. Nevertheless, I hope y'all enjoy it!
Beta reading by Scorchlette! And despite heavy storyline differences, this was somewhat inspired by the AU work Turas, by Grundpfeiler!
